Get answers here to most of your Frequently Asked Questions about OrientaEuro’s Career Coaching:
How will it help me?
The Career Coaching process will help you achieve self-realisation and professional satisfaction. OrientaEuro helps people find the intersection between what they want to do (passions), what they can do well (talents, skills) and meaningful opportunities to apply those talents and passions to their work. It is an opportunity with life-long results.
Who is this for?
Career Coaching helps those who are currently unemployed and those who are employed, but who are not completely satisfied with what they do, or want to improve or reinforce their career path. There is no age limit.
Am I too old for this?
Regardless your age, we have a solution for you: it is never too late or too early to (re)shape a satisfying future when you put your talents and passions to good use to the benefit of your self-realisation! We also offer services to adults that are close to retirement age or those who have already retired, and who want to continue to use their talents and passions to the benefit of others. These could be used within a formal workplace or on a voluntary basis.
Isn't too late to start a new career?
In our eyes, it is never too late to start doing something you are passionate about. However, sometimes there is no need to start doing something completely new, but to make some key adjustments that will help make a huge difference in your current job.
Would I be throwing away all those years of studying and work experience?
No. Even in cases where our clients decide to do something completely new, there are plenty of skills from previous education and working experience that can be transferred into a new venture. A significant part of our process is the identification of those transferable skills and resources (e.g. contacts, certificates, credentials, etc.) in order to leverage your previous efforts and achievements to your advantage.
Will Career Coaching tell me which job I should be in?
No – and no Careers Coaching programme should tell you what job you should be in. YOU will define it during the process with the help of your coach, based on our comprehensive process covering self-awareness, external reality analysis and decision-making skills.
Will Career Coaching get me a job?
No, however we will help you find the best occupation to pursue and give you helpful advice on how to follow this chosen path. The results of the process will significantly help you as having a clear perspective of your talents and abilities is essential in the recruitment process. We will also help you improve your CV and cover letter, should you need it. Moreover, we can hold mock interviews so you can practice and improve your performance during job interviews.
I’m unemployed. Is this service still relevant to me?
This coaching process is not restricted to those who are currently employed and who are not completely satisfied with their current job. We also help those who aren’t currently working find a way back into the job market, doing work they are passionate about. This is the moment to make a significant change and understand that the objective shouldn’t be to find ANY job but one that matches your talents and passions. The Career Coaching process helps you find that job by giving you an in-depth self-awareness, visualising potential employment sectors you hadn’t considered before, and gaining specific tools in areas where they’re needed (i.e. improving your CV and cover letter and interview practice).
How long does the programme last?
Depending on the type of programme you chose, the length of the process will differ. The personalised programme normally lasts 6 weeks, but if you have enough time and would prefer to speed up the process, we can arrange to schedule the sessions more frequently than once a week.
Is there homework?
Yes. We propose certain activities for you do at home with the help of our textbook and workbook, and the follow-up support of your coach.
What languages do you offer the programmes in?
We offer our programmes in English, French, Spanish, Dutch, German, Romanian, Danish, Norwegian and Swedish.
What happens if I don’t live near one of your coaches?
We can arrange for you to have your one-on-one sessions carried out online, via Skype at a time that is most convenient for you between the hours 9am-8pm (weekdays) and 9am-1pm (Saturdays).
What skills do I need?
You don’t need any specific skills to carry out the process. You just need to attend your sessions with a positive outlook and a willingness to work and we will help you discover (or develop) what skills you have.
Who are the coaches and how experienced are they?
We have a team of certified coaches, all of whom with a good track record in various sectors.
If I decide to quit the programme, do I get my money back?
We are confident that you will feel satisfied with our programme and will want to pursue the process to the end. However, unfortunately we are not able to reimburse you the amount you have paid for the sessions you choose not to attend. Nevertheless, if you are unsure as to whether you will like our methodology, you can pay session by session.
What is the difference between Career Coaching and Career Guidance?
Career Guidance is better suited to a younger audience: helping young people in school or university analyse their options when it comes to their career and their studies. It focuses on establishing their talents and passions and developing the skills needed to make good decisions in what to study and where, reducing the risk of needing Career Coaching in their adult life. Career Coaching, like Career Guidance, will help you recognise your profile and analyse a wide range of options in the job market – including the possibility to become self-employed; not only will it help you to utilise your strengths but it will help you achieve your own professional success, without, necessarily, having to do new studies or training.
What makes OrientaEuro unique?
Unlike other options, we focus on finding the perfect match between your passions, your talents and meaningful opportunities to add value to others. Personalising our services in this way is OrientaEuro’s defining characteristic – we take your specific needs as an individual into account, and your coach uses our strategic approach and corresponding tools to make the most of your process.
Do you have references of others who have taken the Career Coaching programmes?
Yes. We have video testimonials on our YouTube channel (don’t forget – you can activate the subtitles to profit from the testimonials of people from different countries and languages, too!): http://www.youtube.com/OrientaEuro
